I am privileged to represent you on the Waikato District Health Board, and to chair its Disability Support committee.
As I am an elected member of the Board, these pages are designed to tell you something about me and the background and thinking I bring to your District Health Board.
As a former President of Diabetes Youth NZ, I’ve worked with DHBs and the Ministry of Health for many years to improve health services for children and their families. I’ve built on this experience to represent the needs of the disabled and elderly in my current role. I’ve also supported initiatives and technologies that will improve health services for our rural communities.
I served on the Auckland DHB before moving to the Waikato some years ago. Before that I gained an understanding of health sector funding and supply through a senior position with Medicines NZ, which represents pharmaceutical companies in NZ.
I live and work in the Waikato District as a senior communications adviser for the Waikato District Council. I have an MA (Hons) and PGDip Mgmt (Distinction).
